Ubuntu 21.10: Icons in docs vanishes with only Show Applications visible

do flag

Sporadically I face this issue with Ubuntu. All icons in the dock vanishes and only the 'Show Applications' icon is visible. If I hit Show Applications it takes me to a blank screen where I dont see any applications. The real problem is I cannot come out of this blank screen (applies to Tab or moving to another workspace). Only the icons at top bar are accessible - so I either have to logout or restart the machine to get out of this issue. In a previous installation too I had this issue and fixed it only by reinstalling the OS. I dont want to do that again. Please advise if this is a known issue and if there are any fix available. Thanks!

This could be related to your specific hardware, in particular graphics card. Eventually, you may prefer to try another desktop such as Xubuntu with less graphics requirements.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
