How to manage switching between 4K monitor versus 1080p monitor --- profiles ? workspaces?

ir flag

How are people managing using same Ubuntu 20.04 computer when using a 1080p monitor then later using a 4K monitor ?

Its a pain to spend time tweaking the apps to handle this transition ... does Ubuntu provide the notion of profiles or workspaces to keep these setting distinct ?

I want to avoid having to resort to logging in as different users just to easily toggle between application display settings when using radically different monitor resolutions.

Specifically when I move from using 1080p monitor to a 4K monitor I need to update settings for font selection on the preferences for GNOME Terminal, browsers etc

I have never used workspaces so possibly it can offer distinct application level settings across different workspaces ?

I only use one monitor at a time ... and no I want to avoid running the 4K monitor only using HD resolution

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
