Trackpad (and possibly keyboard) fail to work on first page of installation

cn flag

I'm installing Ubuntu on my Surface Laptop 4, and on the first page of installation (language setup), the trackpad and keyboard don't work. I can't move my cursor or move up and down the list of languages manually via my keyboard (I'm not sure if I could do that in the first place, but I'm pretty sure can). My keyboard also presents weird bugs such as the caps lock's key-light thingy not changing after booting, but the Fn's key-light thingy works just fine. I only have one USB port on my laptop and I don't have one of those tools which have multiple USB ports in them. I am currently back on Windows, but is there any way to fix this issue (I really want to install Ubuntu)? Any response would be greatly appreciated.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
