Ubuntu 21.10 boots to black screen, after typing alt+ ctrl+f1 GUI appears what went wrong with my installation?

Just finished installing Ubuntu 21.10 on my PC. During the setup I updated kernel to 5.16 and nvidia drivers to v510. After all installation I restarted the system multiple times, everything seemed to work just fine. After one of the reboots I encountered the problem of booting to black screen. I started looking for answer. I found this post . My computer boots to a black screen, what options do I have to fix it?. First thing I did was to press alt+ctrl+f1. It was supposed to display a terminal but to my surprise GUI appeared. Everything seems to work fine besides I need to repeat it every time I start the PC.

So here are my questions what is wrong with my Ubuntu? What alt+ctrl+f1 really does?

How did you update kernel and how did you update graphics drivers? Tell us exactly what you did. Maybe you shouldn't have updated? When you install bleeding edge versions of software, sometimes you get cut. In the open source world the newest versions of software are the versions most likely to contain bugs.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
