Ubuntu First Login Attempt Rarely works

us flag

I leave my PC and the screen auto locks. I return to log in. I correctly input password and Ubuntu just stays there for a few seconds till the screen goes black. The only remedy is typing password, hitting enter, hitting escape, typing password, and finally hitting enter.

Resetting the password does not work. I have this issue on both my desktop and laptop.

If you're having the same problem on multiple devices, then there must be a common denominator. It wouldn't be hardware and it can't be the stock OS. So it's either something you've installed or configured, or there is actually a problem with your login

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
