Ubuntu 20.04 error: unknown filesystem

cn flag

I generally don't know if I'm doing it right, but when I entered these two commands;

grub> set root=(hd1)

grub> linux /boot/vmlinuz=5.13.0-28-generic

I get a bunch of errors that go as follows;

error: file `/boot/grub/x86_64-efi/tar.mod' not found.

error: file `/boot/grub/x86_64-efi/sfs.mod' not found.

error: file `/boot/grub/x86_64-efi/nilfs2.mod' not found.

error: file `/boot/grub/x86_64-efi/minix.mod' not found.

error: file `/boot/grub/x86_64-efi/afs.mod' not found.

error: file `/boot/grub/x86_64-efi/affs.mod' not found.

error: unknown filesystem

keep in mind I am trying to boot from a SanDisk I set up as a bootable device through Rufus, so if there are any issues with that please let me know.

This is also happening on an Acer Aspire E5-575G

If you're trying to boot from a live session/installation media you shouldn't need to do any of that. You may want to (1) checksum your Ubuntu 20.04 ISO file to assure it isn't corrupt and (2) use a different tool like Balena Etcher (although Rufus with the proper settings should work as well).

Balena Etcher wouldn't work for me, it failed to create a bootable device every time I tried. I also used the settings recommended by the Ubuntu tutorial. I wonder if a dvd rw would be any better

Tools like Etcher do not fail, USB sticks and/or the ISO you're trying to burn do fail, there's nothing else to it and that, as expected, is your problem here. Any properly made live/installation media just boots, end of story.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
