Mounting network storage

ph flag

I want to mount network storage on my Ubuntu servers via fstab by adding all the domain credentials. But we want to secure credentials from fstab and it should still be mounted on the host always and also get auto-mounted whenever we reboot the host. This flow works fine if I enter password in a plain text file or credentials directly in fstab file.

Format of /etc/fstab file-

//<network source path> <destination path> cifs vers=2.0,credentials=<credential plain text file>,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0

I am assuming that you are asking something similar to https://serverfault.com/questions/437235/how-to-mount-a-samba-shared-folder-from-linux-client-machine-using-encrypted-pas ? There's a lot more out there where people are asking the same thing, and they all have about the exact same reply to them. Unfortunately, it is looking like it cannot be encrypted.
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
