Ubuntu 22.10 CPU usage unusually high

be flag

Just upgraded to 22.10 from 22.04 and I've noticed that CPU usage fluctuates between 20-50% (on all cores) whenever I do something like moving a window, for example.

On 22.04 I had the same problem at the start (not to this extent though), but it was just a result of my GPU drivers not being active, so the CPU had to render graphics. I've checked using multiple methods that my system is using the drivers it should be using, so I doubt that's the problem.

As for my specs:

  • Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 8GB
  • CPU: Intel i3-9100F
  • RAM: 16GB

I'm using X11 (Wayland caused some issues when using it on 22.04)

Thanks in advance.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
