Difference in Used Disk Size

kz flag

As per System Monitor, I have 153GB of a 979GB available as free disk space on my NVMe.

However, as per ncdu, I have a total disk usage of 485GB. When I right-click via Nautilus, the total size of my home folder is similar, at 519GB.

So surely I should have roughly 979 less 500 = 479GB of free space?

How would I go about locating / deleting whatever it is that is taking the space? I've read briefly about sparce files, but if it's not showing as an inflated file, where do I find it?

Cheers in advance.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
