TPPS/2 Elan TrackPoint not showing up on Ubuntu

tt flag

I am using a Thinkpad 490s. Recently, the Trackpoint red nub stopped working. A lot of the online recommendations suggested changing the settings on the "TPPS/2 Elan TrackPoint"

However, when I try xinput --list, all I get is

xinput --list
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Melfas LGDisplay Incell Touch id=9 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Elan Touchpad id=11 [slave pointer (2)]
⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)]
↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Video Bus id=7 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Sleep Button id=8 [slave keyboard (3)]
    ↳ Integrated Camera: Integrated C id=10 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=12 [slave keyboard (3)]
↳ ThinkPad Extra Buttons id=13 [slave keyboard (3)]

Is this a hardware problem where the Trackpoint is no longer connected, or how do I install it?

Thanks in advance.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
