Change screen brightness on AMD laptop with Ubuntu 18.04

in flag

sudo lspci | grep VGA returns 03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Device 164c (rev c2).

The steps in the Display Brightness Help don't work.

Tried changing the line GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash acpi_backlight=none" and then sudo update-grub several times, but no luck. In fact, tried almost anything available on the internet.

What is the correct way to do it?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
