NIKON Z7 not recognized as MTP device

it flag

I am using kubuntu 22.04 on a laptop and am trying to connect to my NIKON Z7 via usb. I plug the device into my usb port, and it is recognized as a camera and I get the option to mount it. However, it really isn't mounted.

The error I get in /var/log/syslog is:

Is there a driver I need to install, or other supporting library? In previous linux installations, (e.g. ubuntu 18.04 on a different machine) it worked automagically.

Thanks.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
