Reconfiguring battery

us flag

I am running Ubuntu 22.04 on a Dell 7510. Recently I replaced the former battery with the original model from DELL, as the previous one was gone and the laptop needed to be plugged in to the charger, to work properly.

The problem is that the new battery does not charge entirely: if I left the battery charger plugged in, and work on the laptop for the entire day, at the end of my work session (after let's say 6-8 hours) the battery would still be around 20%.

I don't know if this might depend upon a flawed battery charger (but the laptop works, when plugged in), or to the fact that perhaps Ubuntu is not recognizing the battery properly. Is there any procedure to reset the new battery?

Best,

Jacopo

Does it fully charge when the computer is turned off ?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
