Ubuntu 22.04 as QEMU guest: sound volume and screen lock issues

ad flag

My apologies is this is not the right place to ask this, feel free to direct me to a more appropriate forum.

I run Ubuntu 22.04 desktop for ARM (from daily builds) with UTM 4.0.9 (QEMU based).

If it matters, my host is a MacBook Air M2 MacOS 13.0.1

Everything runs smoothly but there are a couple of things I can't fix.

I enabled "Automatic Login" in Settings-> Users but sometimes (when I change resolution by maximizing the host window, but not only) I still get a screen lock and prompt for password. Is there a way to remove ALL UI password prompts? (I'm ok with password prompts for sudo or for software updates)

The volume always starts muted. I can't find a way to store my audio volume preference.

Thank you!

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
