Remote desktop from Ubuntu to another Ubuntu (22.04)?

mx flag

Is there any painless and safe way to access Ubuntu Desktop remotely within a local network?

I tried RDP and VNC with Remmina after turning on "sharing" on the settings of the remote PC, but I'm getting connection errors with both protocols. I'd like to avoid weird VNC workarounds since these break easily with updates and the machines I need to access have no monitor or input devices.

Forget RDP you must use VNC in Linux but that's just my opinion. Try this walkthrough and see how far you get https://www.nakivo.com/blog/how-to-use-remote-desktop-connection-ubuntu-linux-walkthrough/

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
