Cannot login with GitKraken installed from snap

kr flag

Using Xubuntu 20.04.5 I installed gitkraken with snap. It starts, but clicking on the Sign up or Sign in buttons doesn't do anything. No errors, no windows opening up.

I would sign in using my email, but my account doesn't have a password and I can't add one because gitkraken requires the old password to change a new one.

Spawning gitkraken from the terminal doesn't give any output at all. The log ~/.gitkraken/logs/app.txt doesn't show anything when I click, even with the maximum logging level gitkraken -d SILLY and I can't see any output that looks relevant and I can't find any other logs

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
