I'm running Xubuntu with Linux 5.15.0-58 (I can't access the terminal to corroborate, this is what the advanced settings in the GRUB say) in a VirtualBox VM. It worked fine with no issues up till today, but now I can't even enter recovery mode.
In normal boot I get:
RETBleed: Warning: Spectre v2 mitigation leaves CPU vulnerable to RETBleed attacks...
/dev/sda5: recovering journal
/dev/sad5: clean, x/x files, x/x blocks
watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 41s! [systemd-random-:252]
then goes to a loop of:
ata3.00: status { DRY }
ata3.00: failed to command: READ FPDMA QUEUED
ata3.00: md 60/08:e0:50:2f:10/00:00:01:00:00/40 tag 28 ncq dma 4096 in
res 40/00:00:00:00:00/00:00:00:00:00/)) Emask 0x4 (timeout)
that ends in :
[FAILED] failed to start **udev Kernel Device Manager**
Booting it in the advanced setting of de GRUB gives these errors:
Timed out waiting for device **/dev/disk/by-uuid/3ED6-FAE3**
Dependency falied for **File#n /dev/disk/by-uuid/3ED6-FAE3**
Dependency failed for **/boot/efi**
Dependency failed for **Local File Systems**.
watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 23s! [systemd-random-:258]
Failed to start **Load Kernel Modules**
Failed to start **Flush Journal to Persistent Storage**
Recovery mode also seems to not work as I get quite a few errors mainly:
failed to start **ACPI event daemon**
failed to start **Remove Sta#ext4 Metadata Checks Snapshots**
Starting **Recovery mode menu**
failed to start **Recovery mode menu**
[ OK ] reached target **Frendly Recovery Mode**
but it doesn't boot.
