Lock screen login not working

mx flag

I'm on Kubuntu 22.10. Ever since I was using 22.04, my lock screen suddenly stopped working. It looks normal but when I enter my password, nothing happens. I have to escape to a console and run "loginctl" which is very frustrating. I set up a new user and lock screen works so it's something with my normal user account. I can't reinstall my system at this time or no time in the near future and even to setup a new user and transfer everything is not possible. Too many scripts, app and tools reference the current user. I tried reinstalling everything I could but no luck. Does anyone have any idea what could cause my user account to reject my password only on lock screen or what steps to take to try and troubleshoot?

Thanks in advance iomari

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
