Adding isolated network via virt-manager results to permission denied

jp flag

I am using virt-manager in combination with qemu/kvm to run my vms. My OS is Ubuntu 20.04 and the vms run under qemu:///session as a normal user.

I want to create an isolated network between my host and one of my guest vms without internet access. But when I try to create an isolated network via virt-manager I get the following message:

Interface virbr1: Operation not permitted

brctl show shows that only the virbr0 exists. The problem is that I have not the permissions to create a new bridge as a normal user. I read something about qemu-bridge-helper, but with it I can not create new bridges.

I need an advice where to look next.

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
