No audio output with Ubuntu 22.04, Sound card is detected, but speakers are grayed out in the settings

I dual boot Windows and Ubuntu 22.04 on an HP Pavilion with built-in speakers. The speakers seem to be unavailable in the settings. After trying most of the commonly posted solutions the speaker test shows color, but the Audio device itself seems to be disabled.

sudo lshw -C sound returns:

In Windows disable fast startup and try again. It can and does interfere with some hardware.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
