Second Monitor still active when not powered on

gi flag

I have an setup with two monitors. Most of the time its working fine. Sometimes when I just want to quick check an Email or something I don't power on the second monitor. The problem is that ubuntu still "thinks" the monitor is running and is putting programs on this monitor. I either have to try and catch them, or deactivate the monitor in the settings. I tried to search for an setting which checks if the monitor is powered on before activating it but couldn't find anything. Am I overseeing something or is my behaviour just not supported at all?

It is most likely simply seeing something is connect to the port. It is not checking to see if it is powered on. Try unplugging the cable and see what happens.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
