I have a legacy Snap NAS which I connected to a Dell desktop running 22.04 using the CIFS mount command. File writes fail

tv flag

Everything seemingly works EXCEPT nothing actually gets written to a file. For example: echo hi > testfile creates the filename but the contents are zero and there is no permission error message. I've tried every conceivable CIFS option with no solution. The SNAP NAS accepts both Microsoft and NFS networking but no longer works with a workstation running Ubuntu 22.04. The SNAP cannot itself be modified.

My guess is whatever this legacy snap NAS is, it is too old the old versions of SMB protocol it is running may not be safe by Ubuntu 22.04 standards.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
