How to launch application by keyboard shortcut in Kubuntu?

in flag

I'd like to open kate editor when pressing ALT+K. Or google.de when pressing ALT+G.

How can I achieve this in kubuntu 22.10? I tried Custom Shortcuts > and added some by learning the keys, and commands like kate or firefox www.google.de.

But nothing happens, they are not taken into account.

When saving them, I get the following error:

Unable to contact khotkeys. Your changes are saved, but they could not be activated.

But apt install khotkeys gives:

khotkeys is already the newest version (4:5.25.5-0ubuntu1).

SO what could I do?

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
