How should I boot Ubuntu with Live CD to expand filesystem after disk resize in VirtualBox?

ro flag

I'm pretty new to virtual machines. I've installed Ubuntu on Virtual Box and after working there for a while, I was not even able to create a new directory because I had too little space on that OS. So I resized virtual disc in Virtual Box, but now every time I turn on the machine, I can't see anything but black screen with white cusor blinking on the top right. I found a similar question on the internet but it leaves me with one more question. The advice I found there is

Follow Below steps

Boot Ubuntu with Live CD

Open Disks App

Click on Paritions shows up on the screen

Options -> resize option -> fill max available size

Options -> Repair File System Now reboot your Live CD to get into existing installed Image and now you should see Ubuntu Login Screen

So my follow-up question is what is actually meant by booting here? Do I need to upload another system instead of my current one and my data on it? And how to perform it?

Look at the man pages for resize2fs -- expansion may be done on a mounted fs.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
