Printer address (null)

cn flag

null address

What has gone wrong here? I have a printer shared by another Ubuntu machine, and have been able to print with it from a remote machine, but often it does not work.

Why does it say address (null) ?

It gets worse... checking the address in the properties shows that it is not null.

In addition, there is a PAUSE icon over it?

enter image description here

The machine with the printer attached via USB reports this:

$ lpinfo -v
file cups-brf:/
network beh
network socket
network https
direct hp
network lpd
network ipps
network http
network ipp
serial serial:/dev/ttyS0?baud=115200
serial serial:/dev/ttyS1?baud=115200
direct usb://RICOH/Aficio%20SP%203510DN?serial=RH75A879
direct hpfax

And the Add Printer dialog on the client machine does find this printer.

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
