Libreoffice is saving deleted items in .doc format but they're not visible in .odt

My set up PRETTY_NAME="Ubuntu 22.04.2 LTS" NAME="Ubuntu" VERSION_ID="22.04" VERSION="22.04.2 LTS (Jammy Jellyfish)" VERSION_CODENAME=jammy ID=ubuntu

Libreoffice Ver 7.5.1.2

I do my writing in Libreoffice, no complaints. For years I have often saved those writings in the .doc format to share with windows folk.

Recently, i've noticed that the .doc includes text deleted from the .odt.

The deleted text appears grey with line through.

Is there a setting that has been introduced, or have i tweaked something better left untweaked?

All help appreciated.

This sounds like something related to the Track Changes function (changes recorded vs. shown)

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
