cups - Set default settings for ANY printers

it flag

This is the configuration change I want for any printers added in the future:

ColorModel=Gray
cupsPrintQuality=High

Both /var/cache/cups and /etc/cups have per-printer settings, but I want them to work automatically for every new printer added in the future. I tried adding the above two values in the /etc/cups/cups-browsed.conf file, with no effect. Obviously to verify this I turned off the printer, deactivated cups (this deleted the file in the /etc/cups/ppd directory and reset the /etc/cups/printers.conf file), deleted the printer options stored in /var/cache/cups, restarted the PC and turned on the printer again.

How do I make the new cups settings work automatically for every new printer I add?

I do not think that can be done.

Don't think so. Options are connected to the driver and the PPD used for a printer and those are 1 per printer.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
