I can't login with a password, only with fingerprint

ax flag

I'm using a frame.work series 11 laptop running ubuntu 22.04.

Once I unlock the hard drive, I cannot login to the user with a password, only the fingerprint scanner. Once I login, I can unlock the gnome keyring with the password.

When the computer sleeps, suspends, or goes to screen saver, I can only unlock it with the fingerprint scanner, and only after clicking past the prompt that says "place your right index finger on the fingerprint reader" so that it disappears, then clicking again so that a second prompt appears that says "please enter password (or place your finger on the reader)."

What do I need to do?

How did you get to this situation? Did you install Ubuntu, the fingerprint reader app etc. If so, how exactly did you set it up? What commands did you use? [Add all the new information in your question](https://askubuntu.com/posts/1462413/edit).
I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
