I don't see any problems with the video output but still I wonder. Googling these gets some answers but none seem to apply to this situation with a fix. One mentions info from https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/VideoAcceleration.html showing the gforce 400 is missing some firmware that can be extracted from the nvidia and gives instuctions on how to do it if you distrubution is not on their short list. Which ubuntu isn't. Does anyone have any further information about this?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
