What directories/files are actually installed by Ubuntu in the EFI partition?

lc flag

I have dual booted Windows 11 and Ubuntu 23.04 on my PC, and for some reason I want to backup the EFI partition of the boot disk (C drive). I mounted it, and saw that there are a few directories:

  • boot/
  • Microsoft/
  • ubuntu/

Now I can clearly understand that ubuntu/ was added here when I installed Ubuntu, and it is the place where the GRUB bootloader resides. But what about the boot/ directory? Is it also related to the Ubuntu installation?

I'm using a Dell PC.

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
