Ubuntu on MacPro 2013 Grub Menu Does Not Show

Environment: ubuntu 23.04, Trashcan MacPro 2013, Thunderbolt Display on Thundrebolt.

Tried all of the above and menu does not show. As a matter of fact nothing shows and just a black screen until the prompt shows to enter the full disk decryption password.

Also i think the proper way to update grub is: sudo grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg
