My machine suddenly doesn't connect to my bluetooth headphones

enter code hereI am running Ubuntu 20. I have a bluetooth dongle that I successfully set to work with my Magic Mouse and my headphones using bluetoothctl

Everything has been working very well. Today, my headphones (Bose QC35) stopped receiving the sound. I wiped the paired connections on the phone, removed them from bluetoothclt and set about repairing. However now I only get the error "Failed to pair: org.bluez.Error.AuthenticationFailed". How can I solve this? Restarting pulseaudio, and rebooting the machine didn't help.

Here is the trace from using bluetoothclt:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
