Mac's searching Windows Shares yield no results

vn flag

We have a couple of clients running Macs (Ventura v13, but this was occurring since they got their M1 Mac's last year on an older version of macOS).

They can search their PC's in Finder/Spotlight without issue - however, the moment they attempt to search for something on a network mount / shared folder (hosted on Windows Server 2012 R2) - they get no results.

Specifically, in Finder, they can search for something > no results, change Finder to search the current folder > no results, change Finder to "Network" > no results.

The Windows (7, 10, 11) have no such issues. Is there something that I'm doing wrong on the server and/or the mac clients? I have read Spotlight might have such issues, but this should all work through Finder?

I sit in a Tesla and translated this thread with Ai:

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
