log into a VM in Azure using my Azure AD credentials via RDP
mx flag

I would like to be able to log into a VM in Azure using my Azure AD credentials via RDP. The login should be done over the internet from MAC and Linux clients (clients are not members in Azure AD). For security I use Just in Time Access. MFA is not activated Is this possible? How can I implement the project?

When I set it up, I get this message Error

Thanks for the support

How to configure notification on degraded RAID?

I am planning a RAID1(mirror) array in a NAS using either a Hardware or Software RAID controller using Linux.

Though I did not find any documentation in which way the system will notify me that the RAID is degraded.

I dont want to actively check for degration. I suppose there is some way to configure a "mail to root" when degration is noticed ?

How i can assign /32 ip address to openstack nova instance without float ip?
kz flag

I'm developing a custom panel for my openstack home lab via rest api. I've investigated Hetzner cloud ip (v4) addressing mechanism and i found it is like this:

enter image description here

It is assigning /32 valid ip v4 address and routing via invalid ip for preventing ip wasting. Is this possible to implement using neutron? I've read about dhcp options in ovn but i'm not sure.

How can I recover the space in a qcow2 file after deleting snapshots, while retaining remaining snapshots?
cn flag

I have a virtual machine that started out with 5 snapshots 1,2,3,4,5.

I used qemu-img to delete snapshots 1,2,3. Snapshots 4 and 5 are still needed and were not deleted.

How can I release the space used by snapshots 1,2,3 and retain snapshots 4 and 5?

I have spent a lot of time searching for a solution, and the solutions I have found fit into one of two patterns:

Tenable su+sudo and selinux

My Not-A-Sysadmin-Boss wants me to explain this but I can't really find an answer? When using TENABLE SC to scan a RHEL7 system the account used to do the scan connects via ssh then uses sudo to perform its checks. But when selinux is enforcing some checks cannot be performed, one such check does a cat of /etc/passwd but is denied when selinux is enforcing. The work around is to configure SC to use s ...

Which directories get affected by "Linux PCI-DSS patch updates" and "Kernel update"
eg flag

To achieve the PCI-DSS compliance, Company should apply all OS patching in monthly bases.

However, these patches affect the File Integrity monitoring, for example

/etc/bin /etc/include and much more directories.

My question is, how to know which directories get affected by a specific Patch?

Thanks in advance.

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
