Getting ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED only from MY PC and only from WIFI
fj flag

I am setting up the website melius.live and it literally works fine from all my devices using mobile data, but not from Wi-Fi (any Wi-Fi, not just a specific one). However, from anyone I ask to test it, it works for them.

I literally wrote the web app and set up the server and am the only one who is unable to access it (unless using mobile data).

Can it be related to some DNS settings? Because other ...

Passive ftp not working behind nat
in flag

I have a big problem. Let me explain. I have configured two machines, one called "fw" that is the firewall and the other one connected to this one called "server", both are Debian 10 buster systems. The fw machine uses iptables to masquerade the IP. "Public IP": 88.20.100.2, local range: 192.168.150.0/24

This is the configuration of my FTP server, vsftpd to have passive mode

Performance issues running VBScript code because of calls to th Antimalware Scan Interface (AMSI)

I am working with an application that processes a table and for each row it is creating a very simply visual basic script and executing it before other processes are executed. The Vbs script is just an If - Else statement with some simple logic that returns true or false.

It turns out that the application process time has doubled when moving from Windows Server 2012 to Windows Server 2016 because ...

Automate adding a worker node to an existing kubernetes cluster with a bash script

I have a bare metal kubernetes cluster setup using 3 nodes, one master and two workers. I have used kubeadm to setup the cluster. Now before setting up the cluster, I have set the hostname of the nodes to master-node, node-1, node-2 respectively, and added entries for them in the /etc/hosts file, in all three nodes.

How to access IP4 server from IPv6-only MacOS client
cn flag

My telco provider made some unannounced changes to my iPhone's hotspot settings last week, whereby they essentially disabled my phone's hotspot from providing its clients with IP4 (DHCP assigned) addresses, leaving me with IPv6 only. I'm 'negotiating' with them to reinstate the IP4 access, but they are taking an extraordinary amount of time to correct their mistake. In the meantime, I'm trying to see  ...

X.509 signed certificate validity

We are trying to generate server certificates for a cluster of Kafka servers to communicate over SSL.

The procedure works, but the resulting validity of the certificates is only 30 days.

We are requesting 365 days, and after "Step 1" (see below), we have a key pair with the correct validity. See (1) below.

However, after we import the signed certificate back into the keystore, the validity has been red ...

How to make an UEFI bootable ISO without any partition
pw flag

I am trying to repack a bootable UEFI ISO for arm64 but have no luck.

The ISO looks like

# fdisk -l server1030_3.iso
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes

So unlike other bootable ISO typically being partitioned into several partitions, the one that does not have any partition.

MySQL 1 schema, 1 filesystem
ge flag

This is a ''general'' question. Hear me out.

Let's say I have a MySQL standalone or even a 3 or 5 nodes cluster. Would it be a good practice to have 1 filesystem per schema ?

For example, schema{1..5} would go in /var/lib/mysql/data/schema{1..5}

And I am not talking about RAID level under theses filesystems here... Just, plain FS. Let assume I use XFS here.

What gain would I potentially gain from it ?

virtualizing physical IIS box into Hyper-V breaks API, Server 2012 R2
np flag

I have a physical IIS server that works just fine but when I convert it into Hyper-V, it seems to break an API I use to activate serial numbers. It just doesn't seem to connect. Everything else still works however, it booted up fine with no issues, the rest of the IIS services work fine, the website works fine too.

The owner of the API assures there is no changes or anything he can do on his end. ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
