I am trying to update a dict in a hostvar, and the name of the key is constructed using a variable (node). For example, if 'node' is 1 then I want to update hostvars['fakehost']['mydict']['localaddress1']. Here's my code:

I have a server with 5 network interfaces. One is running PPPoE from a bridged modem and gets the external IP. I'm using firewalld and dnsmasq to share that connection to the other 4 ports and devices on my network, all works fine.

I am now trying to put a virtual machine on the host, using libvirt/KVM. That works, and I have created a machine with a 512MB  ...

Issues with Ubuntu not booting on HPE Proliant ML30 Gen9
uy flag

One of the server machines we use for database backup procedures is having issues and I ran out of ideas. At some point, it froze completely, and so it was forcefully rebooted. After that, the machine couldn't boot into the OS anymore.

The machine was running Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS on an HPE Proliant ML30 Gen9, and upon closer inspection, I realized the ubuntu boot option was gone.

Predictable Network Interface Names

So, I've been looking into this systemd "Predictable Network Interface Names" for quite some time and got some understanding on how it works, but I can't for the love of Thor figure out the naming scheme with enpXsY, I know that it's supposed to indicate the physical location of the device, but what exactly does the X and Y mean? Which one is the physical location? What exactly does the other indicate,  ...

Is this an appropriate use case for Windows Work Folders?
cn flag

A client has two sites connected continuously via VPN. At each site is a server running Windows 2012 r2 that hosts hyper-v vms as dc and rds servers. The sites are part of a single AD domain. The users have been configured with folder redirection for desktop and user profile.

There is a need to sync a couple of folders between the servers, from both of the rds servers to one of the dcs, 24/7, even ...

I just configured my server to multi-site revproxy using docker external network and configured my revproxy nginx container to work with fastcgi. Right now, for testing purposes, one of the sites is working, but it seems that the nginx for the website container does not correctly figure out the path for laravel index file and only provides me with the default "Welcome nginx" page.

Virsh console for Windows 10 VM (QEMU-KVM)

I'm trying to access a Windows 10 virtual machine from my Linux host by using virsh console.

But when I do so, I get the empty console that many others have experienced.

virsh console win10

And I can't type at all. Anyway, is there a configuration that I can do in the VM to allow this, specifically for Windows? Thanks

NGINX - Send request to backend if the request is coming from a crawler/bot

I have a Single Page Application without server-side rendering. So whenever someone shares a URL from the site on Facebook or Twitter it does not show the dynamic title of the page.

I would like to send crawler/bot requests to a special backend that serves a page with OpenGraph meta tags.

Front-end is hosted on NGINX and I have this configuration so far:

Can radius be configured to assign ip addresses?

I would need to know if a radius server can be configured in such a way that it allows to assign a specific ip address to a device when it connects. I mean, when a mobile device connects to the wifi network issued by an access point and authenticates through raidus, once that authentication has been successful, give the device a specific ip.

If it is possible, how can I make this configuration? b ...

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
