Adguard Home doesn't return local IP for domain when rewriting, but returns external IP
cn flag

I have three domains i want to have mapped:

  3. test.x --> 10.1.2.3

I have added these to Adguard Home DNS rewrite. I have tested this with dig on another machine:

Kube-Reserved/System-Reserved vs Eviction Threshold
in flag

I'd like to properly prepare our self-managed clusters for resource pressure scenarios. From the docs I cannot understand the need for configuring the --eviction-hard parameter, when we can achieve the same effect by setting up proper values via --kube-reserved for kubelet and --system-reserved for system daemons.

Let me ask through an example. Why would I need to set the reservations for Kubelet and s ...

Best software and practices on how to test a static website locally with URL rewrites

I recently switched from Apache to Nginx on my production server.

My websites have internal links URLs that are rewritten. When I was using Apache, my URL rewrite rules for my websites (HTML/CSS/PHP/JS) were in .htaccess files in the websites repos/folders, thus I was able to test the websites locally with MAMP.

Now that I switched to Nginx, the rewrite rules now reside in Nginx vhost conf files (us ...

AWS EC2 instance: can an alarm hibernate an instance instead of shutting it down?
cn flag

I have an EC2 instance of type c5, which is hibernate-capable, and I can hibernate it manually, for example from the AWS EC2 console.

This is for a spot-instance desktop machine, and I have an alarm which shuts it down after a certain amount of low CPU activity. I wish that the alarm could hibernate, but I can't see this option. I am missing something?

I'm running CentOS 8 Webserver and recently I had some issues with the CSF Firewall, the CSF Service is running but the LFD is failed.

I did some research and I was able to fix it by doing iptables --flush (I'm not sure it was the problem however!).

Yet, it seems that there is a problem with iptables service, when I start it I get this error:

The Stunning Power of Questions

Much of an executive’s workday is spent asking others for information—requesting status updates from a team leader, for example, or questioning a counterpart in a tense negotiation. Yet unlike professionals such as litigators, journalists, and doctors, who are taught how to ask questions as an essential part of their training, few executives think of questioning as a skill that can be honed—or consider how their own answers to questions could make conversations more productive.

That’s a missed opportunity. Questioning is a uniquely powerful tool for unlocking value in organizations: It spurs learning and the exchange of ideas, it fuels innovation and performance improvement, it builds rapport and trust among team members. And it can mitigate business risk by uncovering unforeseen pitfalls and hazards.

For some people, questioning comes easily. Their natural inquisitiveness, emotional intelligence, and ability to read people put the ideal question on the tip of their tongue. But most of us don’t ask enough questions, nor do we pose our inquiries in an optimal way.

The good news is that by asking questions, we naturally improve our emotional intelligence, which in turn makes us better questioners—a virtuous cycle. In this article, we draw on insights from behavioral science research to explore how the way we frame questions and choose to answer our counterparts can influence the outcome of conversations. We offer guidance for choosing the best type, tone, sequence, and framing of questions and for deciding what and how much information to share to reap the most benefit from our interactions, not just for ourselves but for our organizations.
