Ubuntu 20.04 freezes with KDE installation

cn flag

I have a new computer with Ubuntu 20.04.

I Installed KDE and it starts to freezes completely in random periods of time (starting at day 1 of KDE installation, without anything else installed). I bougth it with a friend that has the same model, and he installed Ubuntu 20.04 but not KDE and he has no problem at all.

I tried to go back to gnome but gnome freezes too... is it possible that my KDE installation broke something? I updated all packages now, but it still freezes at least one time a day (I use it around 9 hours per day).

Some details, please let me know if you need more:

Computer model: DELL Latitude 5410 core i5 16GB ram
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10210U CPU @ 1.60GHz
Kernel : Linux 5.4.0-74-generic (x86_64)
Version : #83-Ubuntu SMP Sat May 8 02:35:39 UTC 2021
Distribution : Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
Host bridge : Intel Corporation Device 9b61 (rev 0c)
VGA compatible controller : Intel Corporation UHD Graphics (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller])

Any clue? I read other cases here but always the problem is a hardware component that is not present in my case.

If this is a new computer you should just install Kubuntu. This is the official Ubuntu flavor that uses the KDE desktop. It can be very messy to try to change to another desktop environment. That is the reason why Ubuntu is distributed in several flavors with different DEs.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
