Updated ubuntu 20.04, facing grey screen before login and increased bootup time

us flag

I am relatively new to Ubuntu and have been using 20.04 since the last 4 months.

I recently updated system using sudo apt-get dist-upgrade and since then i am facing an issue during login. I am seeing a grey screen that is there for around 10 seconds and then login screen appears. After entering my password, the screen again greys out for 5 seconds and then desktop appears. I have faced this problem once in past after update and had to reinstall ubuntu 20.04 as system became very slow.

Coming to system configuration, I have a dual-boot system with windows10, grub updated adding nomodeset during bootup (did not resolve the issue).

I have an nvidia geforce gtx 1650ti graphics card, corei7 intel cpu. and currently using nvidia-driver-460-server in ubuntu.

Request help to resolve the above issue.

thanks in advance.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
