Youtube videos not playing on Ubuntu 20.04 in VirtualBox

in flag

I cannot play videos at youtube.com. Usually I see only few frames in the beginning and then it stops. (Same problem in Chromium and Fiefox.)

How could I solve this problem?

Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS (Oracle VirtualBox)

This is what I already tried:

sudo apt-get install --reinstall flashplugin-installer

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras

sudo apt-get install ffmpeg

sudo apt install libavcodec-extra

I disabled cookies for youtube.com. Restarted the system.

A VM typically isn't for such tasks. Video streaming is increasingly demanding on resources. Such resources may not be available in a virtualized environment. Without knowing specific settings it's impossible to elaborate further. That said, NOTHING, absolutely nothing that you've been installing is related to Youtube. Flash, particularly, has been deprecated a long time ago and many years before that Youtube and any decent video streaming service were already using HTML5, not Flash.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
