Can I make a printer visible/detectable when installing software in wine?

sn flag

I am using Ubuntu 21.04 and have created a 32-bit wine prefix configured for Windows 98, in which I wish to install a very old program (circa 1991, and probably 16-bit). However installation fails as the software does not detect the installed printer (which is a prerequisite). I have checked that libcups2:i386 is installed, and also by running Notepad (wine notepad) that my printer is recognised by wine (and can print to it), but there is no printer listed in Control Panel. I suspect that the software's setup.exe is checking if a printer is listed in Control Panel, and aborts the installation as no printer is detected/listed. Can anyone provide a solution?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
