Due to problems (like blank screen after I boot) I removed and installed ubuntu 21.10 but the problem persisted. I found somewhere that it is not compatible with my graphics card, which is an Intel integrated graphics card. So I reinstalled ubuntu 20.04.3 and it is opening up but after a long time. All the applications take 1 min to open and after that too whenever I change a page, it freezes for some time. Not too mention installing any ubuntu in the past 2-3 days took more than 3 hours per installation. I tried searching a lot but got no conclusive solution. Any help would be appreciated. Everything is updated and upgraded.

Does this answer your question? [Ubuntu 18.04 boot time is very slow (userspace taking a lot of time)](https://askubuntu.com/questions/1109292/ubuntu-18-04-boot-time-is-very-slow-userspace-taking-a-lot-of-time)

`38.613s dev-sda8.device` leaps out. Disks should not take 38 seconds to mount. Check your /etc/fstab, and ensure the UUID (or whatever identifier you use) is correct.

If the system has been off overnight, it might be downloading updates and snaps as part of boot (seems like yes: 40s for `snapd.service`)

Your wifi looks like part of the problem: 28s for wpa-supplicant, and more for Network Manager. Try moving to get a better signal. Check your Netplan and NetworkManager settings. Check your /var/log/syslog for failed connection attempts and misconfiguration errors. If you have scripts or services that run upon connection to the network, run a test boot without them running.

And, of course, read your logs. Fix any error messages you find -- those are a frequent contributor to slow boots.

How do I correct the UUID? How do I find the correct UUID of the swap file? @user535733

I checked the UUID and they are correct. Though swap file has no UUID. @user535733

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
