Freezing on bootup, poweroff and configuring display with external monitors on Ubuntu 20.04

vn flag

I have a new Dell XPS 15 that I am trying to get set up with Ubuntu 20.04, using my D6000 docking station and two external monitors.

Right now, the monitors work when I plug them in after booting up. However, ubuntu is unable to boot with them plugged in. Additionally, if I try to power off, the external monitors turn off but the laptop screen simply freezes. Similarly, if I try to change the monitor layout in settings, all three screens freeze.

I had some issues with nvidia drivers, and have been sending ubuntu crash reports about xorg, so this may be related to those.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
