Brightness controller not working, ubuntu 21.04 lenovo ideapad l340

de flag

I use a lenovo 81LK IdeaPad L340-15IRH. CPU: Intel i5-9300HF GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 3 GB Max-Q

The brightness controller just isnt working. I tried a lot of solutions i found online. None of them worked. I don't want to install a 3rd party gui tool that allows me to change brightness from notification bar.

After fresh install, The /sys/class/backlight folder only contains one directory: acpi_video0

Based on what i saw online, it's supposed to have a intel_backlight directory as well. But it isn't there. Also this isn't some hardware issue. I am able to change brightness on my windows 10 installation.

I tried Creating and modifying /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-intel.conf file with the following lines...

Section "Device"
   Identifier "card0"
   Driver "intel"
   Option "Backlight" "intel_backlight"
   BusID "PCI:0:2:0"
EndSection

but it didnt work. I tried editing the /etc/default/grub file with many different configurations i saw in different articles and qns but none of them worked. I even tried reinstalling ubuntu, still didnt work.

Please help me. How can i get ubuntu to detect or create intel_backlight

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
