I tried to install fedora and then deepin via kubuntu / ubuntu without cd rom nor usb, both installers were unable to detect my hard drive

I explain, I lost my usb key, I downloaded unetbootin, I installed the necessary requirements for unetbootin, I selected the correct "hard drive, /" parameters, I selected the correct boot option ". This time it was with fedora 35, although the file explorer was able to correctly display the volumes of my disk the installer was unable to do so despite having rescanned the disks. It was similar for deepin, except that I am not able to use the file explorer since for this distribution it is impossible to test it before installation.

And finally I tried the 2nd method which is entitled on this post https://linuxnetmag.com/how-to-install-linux-without-usb/ which did not succeed despite having followed all the steps indicated, j 've even tried by extracting the files from the iso in grml and as heard I did not forget to do sudo update-grub

The question (in summary): How do I install deepin or any other distribution via ubuntu without usb key or cd-rom and how can can i manage the installer to detect my hard drive

laptop model: ASUS TUF FX505GT

Does this answer your question? [How can I install Ubuntu without CD and USB?](https://askubuntu.com/questions/484434/how-can-i-install-ubuntu-without-cd-and-usb)

keep in mind that Deepin is entirely offtopic as are other distros. We will only help you with Ubuntu/Kubuntu and other official flavors of Ubuntu here. If your intent is to install any other distro than Ubuntu or its variants, this question is offtopic.

@ThomasWard aright let's say I'm trying to do a clean install of ubuntu from kubuntu.

I suspect the linked question would work. Kubuntu is simply a derivative of Ubuntu, so I'd imagine that the process for booting the ISO is pretty much the same as for normal Ubuntu, and so one of those answers would work. If it won't detect your hard drive, I'd guess a USB stick wouldn't either. Also, you perhaps could get a cheap USB stick if you want. That said, to fix your "the installer won't detect the drive", we need some more info, like the model of your laptop. Please [edit] your question to include the model of your laptop.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
