Kubuntu 20.04 UEFI suddly not booting

My Kubuntu 20.04 UEFI install on a Dell Precison T5810 suddenly stopped booting. The system appears to be stuck at the Dell logo screen.

I've tried the Boot-Repair-Disk

Don't know how exactly, but i fixed it myself:

Pressed Esc several times until i got to the grub menu. Then selected an older kernel and recovery mode. Then i ran sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade, restarted and it booted again.
