gnome-extensions-app won't start if .XCompose file is present

th flag

On Ubuntu 21.10 I can't run the extensions app. Starting it via the Terminal I get a bunch of GTK warnings regarding the .XCompose file and afterwards these messages:

Gtk:ERROR:../../../gtk/gtkcomposetable.c:939:parser_get_compose_table: assertion failed: (strlen (value) < 20)
Bail out! Gtk:ERROR:../../../gtk/gtkcomposetable.c:939:parser_get_compose_table: assertion failed: (strlen (value) < 20)
Aborted (core dumped)

The extensions themselves are unaffected and renaming the .XCompose makes extensions app available.

What do I do to make the app properly?

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
