Epson imagescan for Ubuntu 21.10 from source, any success?

co flag

I needed Ubuntu 21.10 (Impish Indri) to run my new motherboard video, however it seems the the Epson release for imagescan is about a year behind for 20.10. I use imagescan to allow a command line interface to the FF640 high speed scanner. I am aware of epsonscan2 gui interface but wanted to utilize my current app to control the scanner. The imagescan install.sh for it is looking for libboost 71 and it appears that is now obsolete for 21.10 and it looks like libboost 74 is only available for 21.10. So I attempted to compile from source. However it had so many complaints it is beyond my skills to proceed. Has anyone succeeded in a build for 21.10. or is the only alternative to dual boot to an older version. Video would be poor but possibly usable for controlling the scanner.

I don't agree with the previous comment because A VM doesn't have access to hardware like an installation on "bare metal". I suggest that you provide more details. For example you say you are trying to compile from source and have a lot of errors. If you want us to troubleshoot this, you should provide 1) a link to the instructions you are following, 2) a detailed description of each step you take to reproduce the errors, and 3) copy/paste the complete text of all errors. Make sure that you use [formatting](https://askubuntu.com/editing-help#code) so we can distinguish it from surrounding text

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
