Unsuccessful install of Ubuntu 20.04.2.0 LTS on Lenovo Flex 6

us flag

I have followed the many installation methods already posted here and elsewhere:

  1. Made the Ubuntu installation USB
  2. Disabled "Secure Boot" in BIOS/UEFI
  3. Propped the USB to the top in boot order
  4. Installed Ubuntu, clean disk wipe, wifi on with all updates and 3rd party drivers
  5. Completed, removed the USB when prompted, rebooted

Unfortunately, I get this error after selecting Ubuntu from the boot menu:

[ 0.175169] x86/cpu: VMX (outside TXT) disabled by BIOS
[ 0.175184] x86/cpu: SGX disabled by BIOS.
[ 0.761487] ACPI FPDT: [Firmware Bug]: Invalid record 4112 found.
[28.199313] watchdog: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#1 stuck for 26s! [swapper/1:0]

I have verified that I have the latest firmware for the machine (Lenovo Flex 6) and have not been able to find for VMX and SGX in the BIOS to enable them

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
