can't resize (and manipulate) windows in Ubuntu Studio

fr flag

everyone. I installed and used Ubintu Studio a year ago. Worked great. I stopped using computer with Ubuntu Studio for a few months. Now, Studio starts slower and I can't manipulate any windows - can't move them, can't minimize or maximize. I can't select multiple file in a given folder, too. Also mouse cursor is now in a shape of an X instead of a pointer. I updated Studio and it still has these problems. I need your help!

You're describing widespread problems that don't seem to be related except for the fact that they happen at the same time. If you've confirmed that it's not sluggish because of background updates, then I would suggest a reinstall. Otherwise you'll probably need to troubleshoot each of these issues one at a time, which doesn't seem like it would be prudent when a reinstall is a lot easier.

Most people don’t grasp that asking a lot of questions unlocks learning and improves interpersonal bonding. In Alison’s studies, for example, though people could accurately recall how many questions had been asked in their conversations, they didn’t intuit the link between questions and liking. Across four studies, in which participants were engaged in conversations themselves or read transcripts of others’ conversations, people tended not to realize that question asking would influence—or had influenced—the level of amity between the conversationalists.
